Hello all! I am excited to be back at blogging after a week off for the final week of directing the spring musical at the school I used to teach at (more details coming later this week on that!). And I am even more excited because I am sharing an amazing new business tool today that I just learned about and I think is a total game changer for Instagram!  Instagram is the fastest growing social media platform, and an absolutely incredible tool for small business owners- especially photographers! It is a visual platform, and a fun way to engage with your followers while sharing your work and your life (which I think is key!).  I love it so much that I have blogged quite a few times about different parts  of it- why it’s useful, how to use hashtags effectively, etc- click here for extra Instagram help if you just aren’t sure how to make it work!

And today, I am sharing about something that I think is a total game changer for Instagram! In your profile you can list 1 URL to link your followers or prospective clients to your work. I’m sure for some business owners, that is more than enough- but as a wedding photographer who is also a blogger, an educator, a speaker, and a fruit pie enthusiast (just had to add that in there ;-)), there is usually a lot more places I want to be able to easily be able to share with my followers.  Enter: Linktree.  

It is a super easy to use, pretty, and FREE program that allows you to share one link in your instagram profile (mine is https://linktr.ee/jillgumphotography), and then when your followers click on that link, a quick and easy to read page comes up where you can enter multiple important links for them to get to. So now, I can share a recent blog post link, a link to my newsletter sign up, and connect brides with my most recent wedding all at once, on the platform where I get the most traction and profile views.  So instead of just one link, this is now what followers see when they click the link in my profile:

It is so much easier to do than clicking into you profile to add your newest blog post link every single time you blog.  There is an analytics feature where you can see how often each link is clicked, and there are a few customizations you can make for how it looks now, with more coming soon. The program also shows a live preview of what my links will look like- which I love!
