When Lia reached out to me, I was immediately excited about what she invited me to be a part of.  Lia is the sister of a groom of mine, and was looking for a photographer for an immediate family only ceremony in Springfield (before a much larger celebration where they live in Nebraska).  I was so happy to say yes, and absolutely loved my couple of hours with Lia and James.  Lia’s now sister in law is a dear past student and bride of mine (Jenna, I LOVED seeing you as a mama!!!) so I felt like I knew this beautiful family a little bit already.  I also loved the way that Lia styled this day and her whole bridal look!  But I really loved the full Catholic mass ceremony– with 13 people present.  It was really fun and special to be able to be right up close in the action, taking really in the moment photos from the 3rd row of the Cathedral.  No zoom lens can give that same feel as literally being right there, which I was able to do without being in anyone’s way because all the guests were in the first 2 pews.  And it was beautiful to see the Catholic wedding mass done the way I have seen it done many times over the last 9 years but with a freedom and casual feel that allowed Lia’s nephew to roam around across the aisle.  His giggles and delight while Lia and James promised forever to each other just felt right.  I really enjoyed it all and am so happy for this beautiful couple and their families!  Here are a few favorites from the afternoon!
