As a photographer, I shoot at similar or the same locations quite often. And while that might seem like it could get boring, it really just challenges me to find new spots and new angles and be creative in new ways, and I do really love that! BUT there is just something about shooting at a new location, ESPECIALLY one that I have been wanting to shoot at for a while, and doing a session at Lincoln’s New Salem is one such example. I always ask my clients what type of location they want to shoot in, and I was just waiting for an answer like the one Shelby gave me that would give me the freedom to suggest New Salem, followed by some time out on the farm, and I was so thrilled when she suggested she wanted a country look- I knew JUST how to give it to her! And I LOVE LOVE LOVE the outcome, I am so thrilled with these pictures and cannot wait to shoot in both locations again! But they will always hold this memory of this beautiful senior of mine, Shelby, who I just love. She is the type of student that I anticipated long before she came to my program from what I had seen of her on stage in her younger years, and she has done nothing but impress me in all ways. I adore her family, I adore her performing, and I absolutely adore her. She is funny and silly and easy going, and up for ANYTHING on stage…and in her senior session! Shelby is a brilliant actress and I always think strong actresses make beautiful photography subjects because of their ability to express so much with just a slight change of face. I can’t wait to share this fall goodness with you- meet Shelby!!
I just LOVE all the historic buildings and old fences here…so much beauty to photograph!
And Shelby’s timeless beauty compliments it all so well!
I LOVE these Shelby!
Favorite!
Or maybe this is my favorite! I just can’t decide!
Oh Shelby, you are STUNNING!
Carefree and loving her senior year!!
Shelby and her mama are very close, and both pretty darn fantastic ladies!
And Shelby’s boyfriend, one of my favorites from the class of 2014, joined us! Shelby is in his post too, which I love!
LOVE this location…I could have shot there all day!
Until a black cat jumped out of the hay and scared us half to death…then it was time to move on!! Shelby and her lovely sister 🙂
Shelby is a very accomplished softball player in addition to her stage talents- she works so hard to do both throughout the spring and it is awesome to see her dedication! She looks fabulous in her uniform!
And just a glimmer of sunset before the end of the night…Shelby I had SO much fun with you and am SO proud of you–I know there is endless good coming to you in your future, and I cannot wait to see it!
