Friends, writing about the engagement of a girl I have known, taught, and absolutely adored since she was FOURTEEN is proving to be a little challenging for me!  I am not sure I will be able to hold it together at their May 2016 wedding!  Sarah is just so so special to me.  As a student, she was one of the kindest, sweetest, and DEFINITELY most hard working students I ever encountered.  She is hugely talented in the fine arts, and very intelligent.  She thinks about everything she does, and wants to do things the best she can.  But she is so much more than all of those qualities- she is just an absolutely lovely person who has become such a big part of my family.  My children adore her, she has spent a lot of time babysitting especially my older, who is going to be the ring bearer in her wedding (you’ll find me at the front BAWLING!!)!  She is just so dear to me and has worked her way into my heart in so many ways over the past 9 years, filling my heart with endless memories of her.  I could not adore anyone more, and I just knew all along that she deserved just absolutely the BEST man.

And she found him in Jacob!  Equally smart and well versed, they love many of the same things.  And he ADORES her.  Sarah is vibrant and mostly super well mannered, but can have her moments of just really telling you like it is, which I love about her.  She appears super formal, and mostly is. But once you get to know her, she is hilarious and humorous.  And Jacob is quiet, and takes it all in, and watches her and compliments her so well.  He is a listener, he thinks before he speaks, and he brings a calm to every situation. I like being around people like that for sure.

I have seen Sarah through a few relationship ups and downs, but as trite as it sounds, everyone who knows and loves her knew Jacob was it when they met.  She was done looking, and I am so so glad they found each other.  We started their engagement at a book store, the place they had their second date. Sarah said they wandered through the small rooms and read and talked and laughed for hours. I can totally picture it, and LOVED photographing them here!

So many more in the slideshow!  Jacob’s parents are both deaf, and Jacob has spent a lot of time working with Sarah as she learns sigh language to communicate with them and really become a part of their world.  There are a few hints of it throughout- this on the lower left below is one of them- the sign for “sweet heart”, or any other affectionate name… I will just go with “Sarah’s one” for now! 🙂  And also, these ring shots on books…Jane Austen of course…swoon!  Compliments her ring quite well!Sarah, I LOVE this of you…it is your “truly happy” face and it is beautiful!Happy family!!!
