I love shooting for other people week after week– obviously, or I wouldn’t be doing this job! It is so fulfilling to capture someone else’s love, vision, or relationships for them to really tell their story and show them off. But sometimes, a photographer just wants to photograph for herself, something that is a part of her own vision and on her own terms. That is when they contact an incredibly talented wedding planner (Hannah Graham for the win!!) and ask collaborate on a styled shoot! The purpose can be multi-faceted– for us, we wanted to share a little bit of the beautiful new Sheedy Shores Winery while just getting to do something that was beautiful to us, and I think we were so successful! We gathered a team of amazingly talented wedding vendors to help us out, and it was just such a fun night. I feel like I have to mention that I was also 16 weeks pregnant and it was literally the hottest day of the year so far…so everything was not perfect. There was a lot up against us and some elements out of our control that I wish we could have fixed (including a large cloud over the sun once it got to that sweet spot!). BUT I loved every moment, especially what happened at the end–make sure you get to the bottom to see!
We are calling this inspiration the Modern Take on a Timeless Romance…it all came together beyond my wildest dreams! I cannot wait to share more about the process and the team, but for today…here it is!!!
Hannah, the amazingly talented planner I teamed up with, ALSO did the invitations. And the flowers. Incredible!! Our models, Elisha and Craig, were just perfection! Jenna, our calligrapher, who runs an amazing business, blew me away! We loved these menus, and thought they were perfect with the pressed flowers touch! I’m pretty sure that Lisha’s dress is what wedding dreams are made of…Girls in White Satin blew us away with this one! This table set up….we just loved it! Pairing some light gold accents with the various romantic pinks and the pops of pressed flowers was the perfect touch! LOVED the vase with pressed flowers! And of course, Tammy’s cake was simple, timeless, and perfect (and, absolutely delicious if I must admit! :)). We loved including the modern acrylic and glass detailing in the signs, chairs, and menus. A little Secret Garden inspiration going on here with our swing!! This is my favorite set of the night apart from the details! Well, almost…you’ll see…
I hope you made it to here. Because until now, it’s been really pretty pictures of a beautiful planned styled shoot. Then? Something real and amazing happened that completely took our breath away. It requires no words, I am pretty sure.
Sending so many congratulations to this beautiful couple that modeled, dealt with the heat, and brought so much joy to us that day! Lisha and Craig, I cannot wait for your wedding!!!
This styled shoot happened with a huge effort of an amazing team!! I will be sharing more about each of these team members in the future, but go check out their amazing work in the mean time!
