Community Over Competition: The Rising Tide | Springfield Photographers
I have an exciting announcement today that has been in the works for a few weeks and is finally ready to be shared! A few months ago, a wonderfully talented and even more kind hearted photographer Natalie Franke wrote a blog post that sparked a movement of the idea of #communityovercompetition…lifting others who are in the creative industry up and helping each other to become better business owners and people instead of viewing each other just as competition. Out of this extremely popular blog post…just one woman sharing her heart, Natalie and a sweet friend of hers Krista Jones began the Rising Tide Society to build a movement of people who believe in the community over competition philosophy of business, and to unite them together in the locations they live in.
They have come up with the idea of #TuesdaysTogether gatherings, where one Tuesday of each month, members of the creative industry (artists, bloggers, boutique owners, calligraphers, designers, event planners, florists, photographers, stylists, wedding pros, writers, etc) will meet together all around the country (and some international!) to build community, talk a little business, and share a little life with each other. I am thrilled to say that I am leading a group in Springfield, IL for Central Illinois creatives!
Something I am proud to mention is that I have been a part of a group of Central Illinois women photographers for a few years that have been doing this- lifting each other up, celebrating each other, helping each other- and I am so grateful to that group! I have learned so much from those women and formed some really strong friendships, and it makes the creative industry much less lonely! I am excited that with these Tuesdays Together gatherings, I may see them monthly! 🙂 This is such a great way to get out and connect with other people who have the same passions (and struggles) as you!
