I can’t recall the exact first time I met Sarah, but I do remember the first time we spoke. She was a freshman, 14 years old, and couldn’t take choir that year because her schedule wouldn’t allow it. Her mother worked at the school with me and was a friend already, and we arranged for Sarah to come in and audition for my top extra curricular group just to see if she could stay involved. She was polite, kind, well spoken, a little quiet, beautiful, and very talented. Needless to say, she was hooked into my program and I on her. Over her 4 years at school, I had her in many classes and activities. She went from being a student of mine, to a teacher’s aide, to a lead in multiple shows. After graduation, she quickly became a friend, a frequent babysitter once we had kids, and eventually involved in this business as well (that story is coming soon). Sarah has been involved in so many aspects of my life, and she is so dear to me. Her family are dear personal friends of ours, I photographed her sister’s wedding, and she sang as a part of Michael’s and my reception. Sarah is just one of those people that I adored from the first moment I knew her, and that has never changed. We have been through many stages together, but this is certainly my favorite. I loved watching her fall in love with Jacob, I loved hearing about it seeing them interact at family dinners when we would all get together, and I loved every piece of their wedding day. Sarah and Jacob invited our boy to be their ring bearer, making the day even more special to me (if possible), and there were just so many personal connections involved in this day!
One of my favorite parts about Sarah and Jacob’s planning was how personal the details were. Sarah’s wildly talented cousin made all of the florals for the weddings out of pages and pages of books, which are quite dear to both Sarah and Jacob. Her bouquet contained broaches from both grandmother’s.A picket fence, built by her dad with pickets from generations ago sat at the front of the reception hall. Sarah’s veil comes from generations of women in her mother’s family, including the one most recently married (her sweet sister Hannah whom I adore as well). Sarah was literally surrounded in generations and years of marriage and love, sewn together and wrapping her in a legacy to start her own marriage to Jacob. The personal touches go on and on. I adore these two together, and I absolutely loved their day.
These details!!! You know I was in blush heaven!!!Her dress was absolutely perfect for her- exactly what I pictured her in…romantic, beautiful, with a touch of dramatic…loved it! The lace…Sarah and Jacob’s niece Aspen was the flower girl, and needless to say everyone is completely taken by her- she is absolutely adorable. See yesterday’s post if you want to read more about her and my boy- but it is a pretty good match I think! 😉
