Lisa+Michael: Promised | Springfield Spring Engagement Session
When Lisa contacted me and asked me about my availability to photograph her wedding on July 4th, I was a little hesitant at first because it’s one of my FAVORITE holidays and I wasn’t sure if I would be sad not to be with my kids if I did. But my husband and I remembered exactly what we processed about taking a wedding on the exact date of our 5 year anniversary this year….we LOVE photographing weddings (together), AND I get to celebrate a holiday I love witnessing and capturing the start of a new FAMILY- what better way to celebrate is there?! Fireworks will happen other days! And within moments of meeting Lisa, I knew I made the right decision!
Lisa and her Michael both serve in the Armed Forces, and Michael was in active duty when I met Lisa, but hearing her talk about about him as I asked about them and their story was a bit breathtaking. They have been through a lot together, and survived a lot, and spent much of their relationship doing long distance while one or the other was serving, and I just think a couple that can stand the text of distance always has an extra level of strength to them. And then a few months later after some foiled attempts at winter engagement pictures, we met on a lovely day with sun and some early blooms…and it was PERFECT. Lisa is STUNNING, and Michael is the absolute perfect compliment to her— they have fun together, they are playful, they are loving, they are cuddly, and they are so photogenic. But mostly, they are so in love! And easy going and good at answering my millions of questions about the careers…they are just beautiful people, and I enjoyed my time with them so much and cannot wait for their wedding, themed around the beautiful holiday it shares a date with.
