Trenton: Carried | Springfield Newborn Lifestyle Photography
Newborn photography has been an ever evolving thing for me because when I started photography, I thought there were all these “rules” about what it had to look like to be a GREAT newborn photographer involving posing and bean bags and props and maybe even studio lighting. I LOVE those types of images, and think they are beautiful and timeless and parents will cherish them forever, and I am so happy to send potential clients to some friends of mine who do this really challenging work INCREDIBLY well. But that just isn’t me and it isn’t my heart in photographing newborns. I want to photograph a newborn in their parents arms. In their own crib and house. In the newness of everything that is happening, showing a tiny bit of the chaos and a lot of the calm. I have always done in home sessions because I always knew these things, but I fought so much to do a lot of posing in my first few years, and now practice what I like to call baby led posing- I sort of let the baby’s behavior and sleep patterns and preferences lead what we do. And it has been SO FREEING for me and brought so much love into my newborn work! But let me tell you, if there ever was a baby to pose, it is this sweet little boy who slept the ENTIRE time I was there without a peep! He was absolutely incredible, and I adored photographing this family more than I can put into words. These 2 new parents have fallen into their role effortlessly, and are so sweet and tender with their newborn. Their home was beautiful and gave so much inspiration and warmth to their session, and it was just a perfect morning! I cannot wait for you to see this beautiful new family!
