As a photographer, I believe in creating community and friendships, not just customers.  Similarly to me as a teacher, I always wanted to make MORE with my students- not just come in the classroom, learn something, and leave.  It is just at the core of who I am as a person- for good and for bad, I am very relational and just crave that interaction with people.  There are some brides and grooms who that happens so naturally and comfortable with, and one of the ways that tends to happen are when I get to photograph old students of mine.  Jessica and Jake are one of those couples- and the first so far who BOTH have been students who’s wedding I get to photograph too! I didn’t get to teach Jake, but I did spend a lot of time with Jessica (and her younger sister) and I always adored her.  Everyone did- she is one of those girls.  Unbelievably kind and sweet, has a little sass when necessary, and incredibly hard working in the classroom.  And ever since I knew her, she was with Jake.  8 years now, and next April, they get married.  In addition to having taught her, Jessica is a photographer, and I love having that connection with her.  We talked “shop” for a lot of her engagement session and it is just SO fun to talk to someone who “gets” it!  Meet Jessica and Jake….and their puppies!

These two have a HUGE heart for animals…it is just beautiful!

Now I have to talk about Jake for a minute too. Jake is down to earth, kind, and just easy to talk to.  He’s the kind of guy people just like to be around…and like everyone else, he adores Jessica!
