There are two rare things about the subject of this post: it is a senior guy, and he isn’t a student I knew before this session! And I LOVE both of those things! I had been in touch with Clayton’s family for a while about this session, and was quite excited about what I heard but of course didn’t quite know what to expect! I am in the unique senior photography position of usually being very familiar with my seniors because I have taught them for years, and I LOVE that because I know what to expect and how to pull some things out of them. But it is so fun to photograph someone I haven’t met and figure it out as I go!
I was warned Clayton could be quite and a little camera shy, and he could have been. But mostly, he was just interesting, and willing, and and EASY to work with and photograph, and that isn’t always typical of a high school boy! I LOVED it! Clayton is very smart, very interested in reading and gaming, and is taking drama at school this year, which used to be one of my favorite classes to teach. And I am SO hopeful that he joins us on stage in the spring after his experience in drama class- I know he would be an AMAZING addition to our show! It was just fun to amble around beautiful historic New Salem and chat and hear about school and life with his family. Meet Clayton!
We had absolutely the most beautiful light the evening of this session.
One of my favorites!
This light!
This is always one of my favorite, and the most meaningful, parts of my senior sessions.

You're in the right place! As a past high school teacher, educating others is my life's work and a HUGE part of my business! I have been teaching moms and hobbyists how to use their camera from first purchasing it all the way to coaching them into businesses of their own, and I'd love to help you as well, wherever you are (and whatever camera you have!).
I'm so glad you are here! Teaching Photographers and other small business owners how to run more joyful, successful, and profitable businesses is one of my favorite parts of my business! I specialize in working with photographers to make their goals a reality (or figure out what their goals should be in the first place!).
