WEEKEND WRAP-UP You Can't Always Get What You Want...!

I‘ll admit, this weekend wrap-up isn’t quite going how I intended…and that’s because this weekend was sort of a mess for us!  After tossing and turning for a couple of hours on Friday night, I got sick, and was very sick for about 12 hours, and still am not 100%.  Our boy followed suite on Sunday, and now Michael is in.  We are hoping it somehow skips E2!!!

It did provide us a quiet weekend in to relax, and perhaps it all was our bodies way of telling us we needed that.  We had a pretty quiet Sunday planned, but this post was supposed to include pictures from a family birthday party Saturday night that we were super excited about (Happy (late) birthday(s) Charlie and Katie!!!!), and a fun announcement about an event that I am directing for my old school- and I had to miss the first rehearsal. I was super bummed about missing all of those Saturday activities, and the lack of memories I have to share with you here as a result!  I am going to go ahead and share about that event regardless- because I am super excited about it!

The RHS fine arts boosters club is hosting an amazing fundraiser in February of this year that is an Alumni Cabaret show!  Basically, the Fine Arts board choose alumni from over the years who were really involved in the program that are somehow still involved or  have given back since their days there as a group of cabaret performers who will sing solos, duets, and small group numbers.  These are people who absolutely lit up the stage during their time at school, who the audience absolutely loved, and who are amazing performers. And my favorite part- many of them are students who I taught, directed, and adored! I cannot wait to see these people perform again! But my favorite part? I begged the board to allow for one number, one piece where any alumni who has been a part of the RHS program ever could join in and sing. This is a huge dream of mine- in my real dream world, we will do an alumni musical one year, where those who love it most could come back and perform again on our beautiful stage! And this feels like a first step. So I am directing that production number of people of all ages and generations singing together for one big finale to the whole show, and I can’t WAIT! I just think it is going to be such a special night for our little town!

My love of music, of teaching, and of my students has not changed a moment in the 7 months since I have been in the classroom and I am really excited for all of the encounters this spring will bring with my old school, this being one of them!

These images are of one of my dearly loved seniors from the Class of 2015, on that stage that holds so many memories and will again this spring!  Loved capturing these for her- and for me!

You're in the right place!  As a past high school teacher, educating others is my life's work and a HUGE part of my business!  I have been teaching moms and hobbyists how to use their camera from first purchasing it all the way to coaching them into businesses of their own, and I'd love to help you as well, wherever you are (and whatever camera you have!).

I'm so glad you are here!  Teaching Photographers and other small business owners how to run more joyful, successful, and profitable businesses is one of my favorite parts of my business!  I specialize in working with photographers to make their goals a reality (or figure out what their goals should be in the first place!).
