A LITTLE PERSONAL GRACE This busy season (before the busy season)

Last February (one year ago!), I decided to start regularly and personally blogging. Prior to that, I mostly only blogged sessions- that was sometimes up to 3 times a week depending on the season, but sometimes less.  I love sharing those sessions because I believe that those clients deserve to have their stories and images shared. I blog for them and their families, and I blog for future clients!  But now, I also blog for my “tribe”, the people who choose to come back and read every day, and it means so much to me that people do! In the beginning, it was only my mom and Michael, and it may only be a few more people now, but I am so grateful for each reader!  In February last year, I began blogging 2-3 times each week, and now for about 5 months I have been blogging 4 days a week, Mon-Thu. It is a big part of my work time, and it is a huge commitment to blog with that amount of consistency.  And… it is hard because sometimes, you don’t know if anyone IS really reading.  But I have grown to really love it, and it is such a fun outlet for sharing and writing, two things I have always loved (and the comments and love left always let me know that there IS a purpose, which I so appreciate!).

That being said, I am getting better at admitting that sometimes, I have to adjust priorities a little bit to make sure I am giving my family the time they deserve and living up to all of my commitments in the best way possible.  And I have to give myself a little grace.  This is one of those seasons.  With musical in it’s final 4 weeks at school (Shrek is coming to a theatre near you if you are in Central Illinois and it’s going to be amazing!!!), I can admit that some of my focus needs to shift a bit in order to keep my sanity!  So the blog might have a few quiet days here and there over the next month- but please stick with me and keep coming back!  In just a few short weeks I will be back at least 4 days a week, and weddings start again soon too which will be so fun!  I just want to ensure that I am giving the show, my family, and my business the time they each deserve- and that might mean throwing some of my work time into other facets of my business (like my Workshop happening in less than TWO weeks!!!) a bit over these next few weeks.

Friend, you should give yourself some grace too. What is one area that you can allow yourself a little freedom on? I am going to take a little freedom on the size of my end-of-the-night ice-cream bowls these next few weeks too! 😉 Please share below- I would love to hear and help encourage you in bestowing that grace upon yourself as needed!!

Always look forward to your blogs, and will continue to do so, even if there’s one a month for as long as you need! It’s all about finding that balance, which is never easy, and things are still a little off kilter, even then! I’m struggling with finding the balance between our upcoming wedding (!), and two very large commitments at church. I don’t feel I can allow myself much grace with any of these, so I’ll allow myself grace with the household tasks (wait, I already do that!). I think I’ll join you in the larger bowl idea instead! Love your blog!

Love this! Giving myself grace is one of my biggest struggles .. As much as I wish I was perfect at keeping my house clean, dishes and laundry done, family fed, blog done, and every other aspect of my business and life perfect all at the same time…. I can’t. So. Grace is what keeps me from having a melt down every day! 😉

  7. Giving yourself grace is always important!!
