WEDDING WEDNESDAY: LETTING YOUR CREATIVE TEAM KNOW YOU APPRECIATE THEM Inspired by my #JGBrides!

You guys, I absolutely believe I have the best brides in the world!! Now, I can admit that most wedding photographers probably think that…but I really do!  These ladies become so dear to me over the course of time that I get to spend with them, and truly do grow into friends! I have gotten to touch base with quite a few of them over the past couple of weeks based on a little in-the-works project for an upcoming website update, and I am reminded over and over again about how very blessed I am to have them in my life! These women are so sweet and giving, have sent me the very kindest notes and little gifts after their weddings, and have just made me feel so appreciated– and I cannot put into words how much that means to me!

These recent weeks gave me an idea of a Wedding Wednesday post for brides who aren’t sure how they can love on their photographers (or creative team in general) but who want to!  These are the sweet things my brides often do for me, and they mean so much!  Hopefully, you have found people to work on your wedding with you that you just absolutely ADORE. Your photographer spends more time with you on your wedding day than anyone but your bridesmaids (even more than your soon-to-be husband), so it’s so important to find someone that you love spending time around.   So I am hoping for you that you have found that match, and if you have, here are a few things you can do to show your appreciation.

1). Tell people about them! If you love your photographer, tell your friends and family, and recommend them to others that you know!  Many photographers work solely by word of mouth vs the old traditional advertising, so it is so important and is a great way to show your appreciation!

2). Comment on and share your blog post. When your photographer posts the blog with your images, make sure to mention how much you love them so that they know–and so that others know!   By emailing, re-sharing, liking (or now loving!), or pinning your engagement session, you are telling your photographer that you loved their work and that means the world!

3). Make sure that you allow their tags of you to show up on your wall! You may have your privacy settings set so that you approve what actually appears on your wall.  All you have to do is click on “View Activity Log” from your profile page (works better on a computer!) and then click on “Review” at the top, and you can choose what shows! Otherwise, their work only shows to the people who follow THEM, and none of your friends will see your fabulous pictures!

4). Follow your photographers page, and feel free to actively respond to other posts as well!  All photographers are fighting the battle with facebook choosing to or not to show their posts to even just the people who like their page- but your interaction can help that (more on that coming tomorrow!)!

5). TELL THEM you love them!  Photographers are oh so human…and there is nothing that is more appreciated than when someone you have worked for tells you how they feel about it! A little affirmation goes a long way!

Hopefully this is helpful to those of you who aren’t sure how to express your photographer (or other creative team) love–from the other side, I can tell you it means so much!  Love you all, #JGbrides!!!

Are you a mom/hobbyist?

You're in the right place!  As a past high school teacher, educating others is my life's work and a HUGE part of my business!  I have been teaching moms and hobbyists how to use their camera from first purchasing it all the way to coaching them into businesses of their own, and I'd love to help you as well, wherever you are (and whatever camera you have!).

I'm so glad you are here!  Teaching Photographers and other small business owners how to run more joyful, successful, and profitable businesses is one of my favorite parts of my business!  I specialize in working with photographers to make their goals a reality (or figure out what their goals should be in the first place!).
