WEDDING WEDNESDAY: BURLAP EVENTS (VIDEOGRAPHY, BUT DIFFERENT) They ship, you shoot, they edit.

Today’s Wedding Wednesday is a quick post about a videography idea that one of my brides used this past October.  Videography is one of the most common things I am asked about by my brides, and one of the few things about our wedding day that I regret (not having any).  I always send names of a few GREAT videographer teams I know and have worked with, but wanted to do a little post about this option because it is so unique and awesome!  One of my brides last year had a friend that started a company with a different approach.  Burlap Events began as typical videographers…but realized there was a huge gap in the coverage that they were getting and seeing, so they came up with a new design.  The concept is that they ship you a few flip cameras, you give those cameras to whomever you want (though most likely bridal party so it is people around frequently), and then they tape throughout your wedding weekend- behind the scenes, formal events, anything they want! You can even keep them for your honeymoon if you want.  Then you ship the cameras back to the company, and they edit them and put the videos together in an awesome highlights video from your event.  And they can ship anywhere– they are based in St Louis but can serve couples anywhere they can ship- so there is no “are they local” question!
To be honest, I initially a little skeptical….how will those videos come together to look great, and do people really want to mess with cameras?? But it is no different than a small cell phone, was so easy for Laura’s bridal party, and I was blown away by the results!!  It is such a creative, fun, behind the scenes, a little bit do-it-yourself approach that made an awesome video at the end that felt SO relational and real to what their wedding weekend was.  I know the couple’s will treasure these forever!  Click here for Laura and Tim’s video- you have to see it!

If as a couple, you want a super formal video, this approach maybe isn’t for you.  But if you want a video of your day (and more!) as you experience it, as your friends see it, with personal touches and a very genuine feel, I love love love this option.  If they had been around when we got married, this is the route we would have taken.  Here is their website!

You're in the right place!  As a past high school teacher, educating others is my life's work and a HUGE part of my business!  I have been teaching moms and hobbyists how to use their camera from first purchasing it all the way to coaching them into businesses of their own, and I'd love to help you as well, wherever you are (and whatever camera you have!).

I'm so glad you are here!  Teaching Photographers and other small business owners how to run more joyful, successful, and profitable businesses is one of my favorite parts of my business!  I specialize in working with photographers to make their goals a reality (or figure out what their goals should be in the first place!).
