ROCKSBOX : ARE YOU A JEWELRY LOVER? For the accessorizer in us all!

Rocksbox for Jewelry Lovers_0014

So just last week while on vacation, I stumbled on a post on a friends facebook and was instantly interested.  It was for a designer jewelry rental company called Rocksbox.  Very quickly, I learned that it was a monthly subscription kind of thing and immediately thought what my Michael thought as well- someone is making a LOT of money off of all the people who subscribe!  But as I dove in a little further, I became quite curious.  Rocksbox is best described as a monthly subscription where after filling out an extensive survey (and giving feedback with every shipment!), you get sent a box with 3 pieces of designer jewelry (read: too expensive to buy!) that you can borrow and wear as long as you want!  You then send it back whenever you are ready, and get a new box sent to you within a few days. There is no limit to how long you keep a box, or how any you get a month for the $19 monthly fee.  Here are some of my favorite parts about Rocksbox.

1). A lot of those monthly subscription boxes send you sample size beauty or lifestyle items (makeup, jewelry, etc) that you get to keep- but you pay between $20-$100 a month for them and they are often so small that they aren’t really usable (and not customizable at all to your taste).  But because you fill out a survey detailing things like what type of metals you like (mixed for me, of course!), whether you like more simple pieces or statement pieces (both for me!), and what TYPES of jewelry you are most likely to wear, it is really tailored to your preferences! You can also fill out a wish list and everything that came in my first box were pieces I marked on my list- the more you mark, the better your personal stylist does!

2). If you LOVE an item, you can purchase it! Out of your $19 subscription fee, you get $10 a month towards purchasing- AND the jewelry is offered at a discounted rate for subscription members (of course, because it is “technically” used. I will mention though- they clean and disinfect everything before sending for those of you worried about germs!).  The brands they carry are splurge pieces for me price wise, but definitely easier with that discount! At this point in my life, I want fewer pieces of nice jewelry (which is a huge change from my 20s!) and this can give that to me!

3). As someone who LOVES to change up the look in my wardrobe, and who LOVES getting surprises in the mail, I was so excited to open my first box (which was a part of my FREE first month- read about how you can get one below!).  It is packaged adorably, and I knew would have at least something I love (I love all 3 pieces!) that I can wear for a while until I am ready for something new, and just send back- it is brilliant! Then–I can try something new! You can always try to ask for something again if you want, and send a specific note to your stylist requesting something.

4). As a MOM–there is insurance for normal wear and tear included in your subscription! And that is key to me! I am always terrified to wear any of my nicer jewelry pieces with kids- but this makes it a little easier! I am totally not suggesting that you shouldn’t be careful- but it takes some of the worry out!

And out of a million more things I could write about…

5). I have also researched other companies where you can get a monthly jewelry box, but the jewelry isn’t often something you have any say in, and is often cheaper pieces, like the type I loved to have a LOT of a few years ago.  This way, I can get a pair of Kendra Scott earrings (that retail closer to $70!) and borrow them for as long as I want- a pair I have always wanted to own- but just couldn’t pull the trigger on! And then send them back for something new!  At $19 a month, it is an investment over the year, but really not a huge amount for what you get in my opinion. For a full year, you could maybe buy two pieces of this quality of jewelry.  And this way, I can wear countless! And you can end your subscription at any time if you want.

Here is what I got this month!  Make sure to check out the details of how you can join and get a free month (and give me a little jewelry credit!) below the pictures! I truly am SO excited to share this all because I know I have so many fellow jewelry lover friends! Mike and I thought I would just try the one free month- but I know I’m hooked!

Rocksbox for Jewelry Lovers_0007 Rocksbox for Jewelry Lovers_0009 Rocksbox for Jewelry Lovers_0011 I TOTALLY love them all, can’t wait to wear them, and send them back for more! I will share some pictures of me wearing them over the next week or so too 🙂

So are you interested?! Here is the BEST part! You can try one month for FREE and decide if you love it before your official subscription starts! And you can change your mind at any time if your jewelry needs, style, or wants change. There are SO many styles (these pieces just were things that I loved!) and much more simple styles if you like that route (and certainly more fancy as well!).

If you are curious and want to sign up (and earn me a little bit of bonus jewelry!), all you have to do is click on this link and make sure to enter “JILLGBFF6” when you sign up and it asks for your referral code!  This gives you the first free month, and you can see if you like it! My friend who referred me is on her second set of jewelry, and has gotten to purchase 2 items through her friends signing up with a lot of credit left, and still hasn’t paid anything yet in her first month! It is such a fun opportunity for a surprise in the mail whenever you want- and to wear designer jewelry at a totally affordable price!  If you decide to sign up, you will have to share what you get with me! 🙂
