If these first few 2017 wedding engagement sessions are any indication of what next year is going to be like, I am so excited!!!!  While this was the first time I met Melissa and Ryan, I truly felt like I knew them well already.  First, they are very linked to one of my 2016 couples so I often get a double dose of them on social media (so much so that I actually called this beautiful bride by her friend’s same-letter-starting name, which I pretty much never have issues with! Melissa, I swear I know who you are!!! ;-)).  Second, Melissa and I got to have quite a few wonderful phone conversations this spring while working out the initial details of their wedding.  What I loved the most is that even though we were talking about her wedding and coverage and specifics of the photography, I always felt like I was talking to a long lost friend. We were also talking about careers and teaching and marriage and just life.

So when they came to our little corner of the world for their session, I hugged her as a dear friend, and adored Ryan instantly the same way.  I just had so much fun with them.  They are beautiful together, and compliment each other very similarly to how Michael and I do, so it feels just a little like home being around them.  Meet Melissa and Ryan! They were pros from the beginning!!
