FAVORITE CAMERA AND PHOTOGRAPHY ACCESSORIES Christmas Gift Ideas for the Photographer in your Life!

Christmas is almost here and I know there are some who are still compiling their lists for Santa and their loved ones, or gift-givers who are looking for the perfect surprise gift for the photography enthusiast in their life! Well, I’ve compiled a list of some camera accessories that would be a wonderful present for someone who loves taking photos!

Lenses + Memory Cards

Canon 50mm 1.8 – I can’t ever share camera gear without sharing about this lens because it is my #1 recommendation for up-leveling your photos!!  If you want to read more about prime lenses (and this lens in particular!) and why I LOVE it- click HERE!

Nikon 50mm 1.8 Here is the Nikon version of the same 50mm lens I recommended above!!

Macro Lens Filters Make sure you get the right size for the lens you want to use them on (I recommend an 85mm+ lens), but these macro lens filters are a great option for macro shots without spending a lot on a macro lens!

Nikon Macro Filter Option Here is a great macro filter alternative for Nikon!

SanDisk 64GB Extreme Pro Memory Card. This will hold a lot of images and is FAST at recording!  It is the best memory card you can buy in my opinion!

Tech + Equipment

Canon Wireless Remote Controller Double-check that this would work with the specific camera, but I have and love this remote for wireless shooting!  I use this most at big family events (Christmas, Thanksgiving, etc!) when I want a full family shot without setting a timer and running in!

Apple Lightning SD Card Reader If you have a newer computer without a card reader, this is a great card reader! It’s for lightening cables (not USB), but it’s what I use for easy on-the-go transfer when traveling!

Lightweight Tripod We have and love this super basic, lightweight tripod for those same family events I mentioned above!  Set the camera up on it and use the remote to take a big group photo that everyone’s in!

BlogStomp is a tool I absolutely LOVE as a business owner for combining photos and resizing them for online sharing–it is so great!

Camera Bags + Straps

Think Tank Sling Camera Bag While I do not have this exact bag, it’s 100% the style I recommend for being on the go with your family taking pictures or if you are active (travel, hiking, etc). A sling bag gives quick and easy access without you having to take it off first to get your gear out. They don’t hold as much equipment, but definitely enough for these activities for sure!

Camera Backpack. Here is a great backpack-style camera bag that is perfect for active photographers!

Leather Camera Bag This option is a little more pricey, but I think it’s such a beautiful camera bag that’s carried crossbody or over the shoulder!

Shoulder Camera Bag This is such a simple option for a shoulder camera bag that comes in gray or black! It looks like it’d be great to use for travel as well!

Peak Design Slide Lite Camera Strap.  This is a cross body strap (which I recommend 100x over a neck strap) and is SO effective. This isn’t the exact one I have (it isn’t sold anymore), but this is such a flexible design that I have used and love, and I will switch to this when mine wears out!

JOBY UltraFit Hand Strap.  This is the style of wrist strap that I use for weddings (this is a more economic option than the one I have!) and I LOVE it! For me, this is easier at weddings when I’m also wearing a camera bag with lenses!

And I’ll end this list with two of my favorite gift options for the camera enthusiast in your life– a Gift Certificate to the Jill Gum Store  (this can be put toward a mentoring session with me, any of my courses, or a membership to the Jill Gum Photo University) or a Gift Certificate toward a Session with Jill Gum Photography!!

I hope this helps give you some fun ideas and inspiration for the camera and photography enthusiasts in your life– I am confident they would be thrilled with any of these options!

Hello Friend!

Are you a Photographer?

Are you a mom/hobbyist?

You're in the right place!  As a past high school teacher, educating others is my life's work and a HUGE part of my business!  I have been teaching moms and hobbyists how to use their camera from first purchasing it all the way to coaching them into businesses of their own, and I'd love to help you as well, wherever you are (and whatever camera you have!).

I'm so glad you are here!  Teaching Photographers and other small business owners how to run more joyful, successful, and profitable businesses is one of my favorite parts of my business!  I specialize in working with photographers to make their goals a reality (or figure out what their goals should be in the first place!).
