It’s a little hard for me to put this day into words because I was truly very moved by Abby and Tyler’s wedding. The deep, palpable joy that was in every part and every person of this day was beautiful beyond words. My day started in Abby’s childhood home with her 4 attentive siblings, hype-girl bridesmaids, loving parents, and a sweet slew of nieces and nephews. The home was decorated from porch to Abby’s bedroom for the wedding, and it was clear that her family has planned and prepped this wedding as a group, which I love so so much. Everyone was so excited and yet calm. We got to recreate a reveal moment that had become a bit of a family tradition, and the small moments were sweet and rich.
During their ceremony, Abby’s childhood priest talked about marriage being about choosing someone and promising to put their needs and wants before your own every day in every choice, like Christ did for us. It is a a beautiful picture, and the part I liked even more is that this couple shows this type of love for everyone around them and you can see it in the way they treat their loved ones. I heard it in the stories about them in their speeches, I see it in their concern for other’s comfort (their first question after seeing me ready to photograph the speeches was if I had eaten!), and in their overall joy for life- it is joy that comes from giving hearts, and it just makes them all the more special and beautiful as a couple. I loved witnessing this day and being a part of it- and I can’t wait to share my many many favorites!
I loved what I saw of Abby and her sweet mamas relationship, and hope mine with my daughter looks similar as she grows up! Husband and wife! I have so many favorites from this day! Abby built in a lot of time for portraits, and because of that we got so much variety in their photos! I ADORE these two! Abby and Tyler, I truly adore you two and am so thankful to have gotten to witness your beautiful wedding day from behind my camera! I think you two are such a wonderful couple and I’m overjoyed for you both!
