It’s hard to even know where to begin when sharing about Shelby and James and their wedding day. You see, I had a front row seat to it all. From when they were just classmates, to co-stars, to prom dates, to boy friend and girlfriend. As their teacher and director, it was a pairing that really seemed to make them both better (which is really saying something, because they were absolutely stellar individuals, even as teenagers!!! 🤣). And from when they were teens, we hoped this day would come. I didn’t get to see the ins and outs as their relationship grew from a sweet high school relationship into the real, deep, day in and day out sort of relationship that leads to a wedding day, but I always just felt like eventually we would all be together celebrating their wedding day, and getting to photograph it was just the absolute cherry on top.
I adore Shelby and James both. I spent many many hours with them on a weekly basis when they were in high school, and they just personified warmth and kindness then. And I see it even more magnified now. Their wedding day was filled with such a depth of joy, fun, and celebration and it truly made my heart so happy. These two have such a zest for life, and just life it fully. I think everyone who loves them is pulled into that energy and fun, and it is a really special sort of gift they give to others because of who they are.
Shelby and James, it feels like yesterday and forever ago all at the same time that Casey and I were giggling at the light board wondering what was happening with you two! I am completely overjoyed for you both, and truly believe you are a perfect match. Thank you so much for letting me be the tiniest part of it all! Here are my many favorites!
This old fairgrounds building was so beautiful but Shelby just shined in it! The leaves were really showing off and so were these beauties!!! Shelby, I will not forget this moment. Perfectly timed with a song we both adore. I’ve not felt so much emotion in this moment before (and that’s saying something for me!)! Husband and wife!! I LOVE you both!
