There was a reoccurring word throughout Kayla and Josh’s stunning winter wedding day that rang in my head and has continued to since: choice. It struck me fully because it is one my husband Michael and I have spoken about often in our years together but not one I always hear talked about. But these two, and their loved ones, fully got it. The choice every day to wake up and love each other well. The choice to keep their hearts and heads in it years and years down the road. The choice they had to get to this day in the first place, and how beyond all feelings, they also chose to say I Do. None of that to say there isn’t an immense amount of feeling with this group- because I teared up due to the intense emotion more often than usual on a wedding day. Maybe a part of it is because I have known this groom since he was my oldest son’s age and absolutely adore their family, or because the ceremony was at a St Johns Lutheran church, a place that holds a piece of my heart from when we were members.
Irregardless, it was such a special day and not a single person there could have missed it. These two absolutely adore each other, their families are bonded and fully in it, and goodness do they all know how to put on a good party! The speeches from siblings and lifelong friends and parents were full of stories and memories and wishes and dreams for these two, and I could have listened to so many more. Kayla and Josh quite literally grew up together and are now going to continue to weave their lives together and as beautiful as their wedding day was, I truly believe their marriage will be even more beautiful. Here are some of my favorites from this gorgeous Homestead wedding!
With our girl Taylor pumping in teh getting ready space, of course there was lots of joy and smiles!
These two were very sweet!
First look time- these moments are SO special! Kayla and Josh chose to read personal vows during the first look and it was so lovely!
It was so cold but this crew braved the outside for a handful of shots and I’m so glad we did!
Take a peek at Josh’s 2 brothers here…
So.many.favorites!
I would be remiss not to mention Josh’s parents, and how I knew them before I was a parent. What a beautiful example they share of loving your kids and creating such a strong family unit.
Kayla and Josh it was TRULY an honor to witness this day. Thank you so much for involving me- I will not ever forget it! More soon!
