This one is definitely for the ladies and the BRIDES!  Ladies…I only learned about this a few months ago, and I cannot BELIEVE I didn’t know before!  Do you know about Rent the Runway? This amazing website where at COMPLETELY reasonable prices, you can actually rent designer dresses?

Basically, how it works, is you can search through TONS of beautiful dresses (and accessories!) with very specific criterion if you want, and it’s AMAZING!  There are actually stores in some big cities (Chicago is one of them) where you can go pick them out as well.  You can rent the dresses for 4 or 8 days depending, and there are so many awesome features! Here are a few of my favorites:

1). While you choose 1 size to get your dress in, you can get another bordering size for free! That’s AMAZING!  Just helps ensure a good fit!

2). If neither of the dresses fit, you can get an exchange for just the cost of shipping.

3). There are very specific notes about sizing and fit for each dress, including body shapes the dresses are best for!  There often are also TONS of reviews and real-person pictures, which I find really helpful!

4). There is a constant coupon on the website for 20% off your first order!

5). They pay for return shipping of your dress and include a $5 insurance fee that covers most issues if something were to happen (and clean the dress when they get it back- you just have to pop it back in the box it comes in and send it!)!

6). They have a huge variety sizes–which is good to know for a sometimes plus sized lady like me!

I bring this up because I know that when I was shopping for outfits for our Anniversary Session with the amazing Katelyn James, I really struggled with what felt special enough for that event- and I know I did for my engagement session too! I knew I wanted one casual outfit that felt like what we do day to day- and I knew I wanted one amazing dress!  Brides, I think this is an AWESOME way to wear something very special, something that may be way out of your normal price range, for these once in a lifetime photos! Your engagement pictures will likely be featured a lot throughout your wedding process, will decorate the walls of your home together, and often are the first professional pictures you have ever gotten taken with someone else (or maybe EVER if you are like me and didn’t really have real senior pictures taken)!  It is such a special time in your life to have captured, and how fun to celebrate with a wear once and return designer dress!  I also think this could be a fabulous option for showers, engagement parties, or rehearsal dinners if you are unsure of what to wear and want something really special!

PS…Brides? I have also heard of people doing this for their bridesmaids dresses! No more fears about them only being worn once…I LOVE it!
