The last two months, I have been very busy at my old school directing the spring musical.  I absolutely LOVE musicals (read more about that here)!!  This was always one of my favorite parts of the year, and that continues this year- it has been SO busy (and during the typical off season for photography too), but it just something that I enjoy so immensely. And especially this year, since I am not in the classroom anymore, it has been particularly meaningful.  I have missed the contact with my students, and music, so much this past fall.  I know we made the right decision in a huge way for our family- but it doesn’t change how much I miss it!  And this gives me a big piece of it back.

We are doing a combined show this year, using students from Grades K-12. Shrek the Musical is really the perfect adventure for a combined show, and is a larger show than we have ever done before (and we have done a lot of BIG shows!).  When combining the costumes, makeup, sets, multiple schools, and difficulty of the music it is just a huge undertaking.  We do shows BIG at Riverton- we go all in and they are fabulous, if I do say so myself, especially for our small little community!  And in addition to it being a BIG and BEAUTIFUL show, it has an absolutely beautiful message that I love and really identify with.   And… it goes up THIS coming weekend (and the following)!  I had to share about it here because it is going to be an amazing show and we want to PACK our beautiful auditorium- the kids deserve it!  Tickets will be available at the door, and it is a PERFECT family show!
