About a year ago, I heard from a lovely couple who were planning a wedding on their family farm (which, truth be told, is my very favorite venue for a wedding except for maybe wineries). The groom’s brother is a part of an amazing videography team (linked below!) that I had worked on a wedding with recently, and sent them my way. I was so excited to chat with them, and thrilled when they chose me. A few months later, after lots of consideration, this couple decided to move their wedding to the bride’s home in Missouri after realizing that Christina’s grandmother wouldn’t be able to travel to Illinois for the ceremony. It was too important to her for her to be present, and they changed their entire plans for that. That is the kind of couple they are. People first, always. It was clear in every moment of their day- they love others well, and are loved well in return. Their day was personal, and beautiful, and intimate, and spoke so much of who they are as a couple. I am sort of falling in love with campus weddings this year- there is something so stately and lovely about the buildings. I shared a bit of their story in their engagement session post here, but Christina and Bill both went to Truman State, but didn’t meet each other until later (in Texas!). But it felt so special to photograph them here, in a place that meant much to both of them.
Christina and I share a love of Kendra Scott jewelry, and she designed her wedding earrings from Kendra’s collection (and gifted her bridesmaids Kendra earrings! They were gorgeous). Christina, you are beautiful! There was much emotion present in this beautiful bride, and it only makes her more lovely. Here is that sweet Grandma 🙂 First look time! I LOVE Bill’s face here! She’s coming!!! This locket belonged to Christina’s Grandma before it went to Christina, in her grasp all day. I’m completely obsessed with these bridesmaids dresses!! The ADORABLE flower girl for a little pre-ceremony entertainment 🙂 Favorite! This look says it all. These 4 are all close, 3 from childhood and one from college…it is pretty unusual that there is a bridal party where ALL are friends. Loved that!
This was just about the most lovely thing ever…
Christina and Bill, thank you so much for bringing me along for this beautiful day! I adore you both, and know there is so much happiness in your future! Congratulations!!

Gorgeous wedding!!!! I adore her earrings!!!!
Oh my goodness, I love the floral chandelier above the cake. That might be my new favorite thing, like ever.
I just have to say that I LOVE the story of why this couple moved their entire wedding. Family is so important, and I love that they recognize that! <3
