As I get further and further into teaching photography (vs teaching music like I did for 9 years!), I have absolutely fallen in love with working with individual photographers who are starting or thriving in their businesses!  I have a huge passion for teaching in moms also, wanting to capture their kids better, and certainly for teaching groups.  But it’s funny because in my choir classroom, the larger group the more I thrived as a teacher and the more energy I had. I loved my 55 person Concert Choir, chaos and beauty all wrapped into one! But even though I taught them for almost 15 years of my life, private voice (or piano or clarinet!) lessons weren’t the area that I loved the most. Something about the larger group just spoke to me!  But with photography, there is something so beautiful and special about working one on one in coaching sessions with a photographer. We get to talk about HER business specifically…HER skills and HER struggles. The pain points that keep just her away from her family- and what about her business lights her soul on fire. I love learning these things- and even more, I love helping them figure out how to take the various pieces of the puzzle and put them together in a way that helps them love and serve others…serve others better so they can live their lives better!  And Tiffany is a perfect example of that! She has been photographing for years- but is just now officially starting a business that can really bring something financial to her family- and something creative and life giving to her!  I loved hearing about her history with a camera, and how it has influenced her family.  How she lights up when her kids get behind her camera. And how for years, she has been gifting sessions to friends because she loves it and them.  And now, it is time for something more for her!

The hours that I spend coaching each month (2 sessions a month) are truly 5 of my favorite hours of work.  I love taking what I learned from all those years of teaching and putting it into helping propel these photographers forward- with goals and a plan in place!  It feels like the perfect marriage of 2 things I love so equally- even though the photography piece fits in my life so much better right now than the teaching music did.  I am booking into March now for coaching sessions, and would love to chat with you if you are a photographer wondering what the next step is!
