TECH WEEK AND WHAT THAT MEANS FOR THE BLOG Legally Blonde | Personal

I remember the past few years telling my sweet BFF and co-director that as busy as the final week of our shows is, and as hard as it is because I don’t get to do bedtime or have much time with my family all week, there is something that is almost stress releasing about it because for that week, especially for those 8ish hours a day at school, I have one focus: Director.  Usually I play it extremely low key in my photography business, and there is so much time at school that I don’t have a ton of mom duties (even though I miss them a lot during the week), but for one week out of the whole year, I am not wearing 25 hats and trying to make them all fit at once.  This year, it is a little different because I am 2 weeks out of my Lightroom Workshop (that has just 2 seats left- claim one here!), and also in the middle of a major newsletter launch, not allowing me to take a break from my business this week.  And that is a little scary to me, because it was such a significant part of my schedule the last few years, and what I think made it work!

So to help alleviate some of that, I am going to sit out blogging the rest of this week. I will be back next Monday or Tuesday, with my typical 4 posts a week- but this little bit of grace will make this week work a little better- and I am aiming for a smooth week! 🙂 If you are local, come see Legally Blonde this weekend- it is going to be amazing. It is truly a show I identify with on so many levels and have loved seeing it come to life!  If you are a blog reader, come back next week- all will be back to normal!  And if you haven’t read about the newsletter yet, you can read more details here, or better yet- just sign up below!  I am doing a newsletter that is very different from most photographers I know, where there are different “tracks” that can apply to whatever your interest is. So if you are a bride looking for help planning, you don’t have to read about my education offerings- and if you just want info on JGP and available session dates, you don’t have to read tips for moms with cameras!  The first newsletter you get will allow you to customize and choose what you want to receive- and you can choose more than 1 if you want!  Just like on social media, I want to be an encouraging and refreshing “hello” in your inbox, not just another voice you skip over, and I am confident this will be! Just sign up below, and the rest is easy. 🙂

Have a great week friends- if you need me, I’ll be painting…or at sound board smiling, laughing, and probably shedding a tear or two while I watch one of my favorite musicals be brought to life by kids I LOVE!

Although I won’t be able to attend this play (living in Florida now) and as I am so proud of both my granddaughters, Chloe and Taylor who have been in most of the Riverton plays, I’d like to give a shout out to one of the behind the scene people that I know,no play can do without. That’s my wonderful, hardworking son, Craig Babbs who spends endless hours building the props for the plays. Besides the long days he puts in at work he is always there evenings and weekend so the plays will have the background sets needed to put on the plays. Let’s not forget the behind the scenes people that help make this possible. Wish I could be there for this one. Good luck everyone….break a leg as they say in show biz…… Jan Deacon

Hello Friend!

Are you a Photographer?

Are you a mom/hobbyist?

Start HERE!

You're in the right place!  As a past high school teacher, educating others is my life's work and a HUGE part of my business!  I have been teaching moms and hobbyists how to use their camera from first purchasing it all the way to coaching them into businesses of their own, and I'd love to help you as well, wherever you are (and whatever camera you have!).

I'm so glad you are here!  Teaching Photographers and other small business owners how to run more joyful, successful, and profitable businesses is one of my favorite parts of my business!  I specialize in working with photographers to make their goals a reality (or figure out what their goals should be in the first place!).
