ASK ANYTHING : BLACK AND WHITE CONVERSIONS Lightroom Editing Videoblog

One of the things I really like about blogging is that there are multiple “media” options- I can write with just text, text and pictures, or I can use videos! As a past teacher, I know that everyone learns differently, so I am always excited when I can share a video blog for an ask anything post to try to teach in a way that might work better for some!  Since I began my business 4 years ago, my editing has changed a bit as my style has evolved.  But it hasn’t changed super dramatically over time, because my goal has always been the same: Timeless images that show the moment as it was, and will still show that emotion and moment clearly in 20, 50, and 200 years.  So I have just made minor changes to suit that goal better as I learn and grow.  However,  after teaching over 40 photographers over the last 1.5 years, there are common questions about editing and lightroom, and black and white images is one of the popular topics! What is the best way to convert a color image to black and white? What adjustments make it really pop? And how does a photographer decide which images get converted in the first place? It’s all in the videoblog today- I hope it’s helpful!

If you are interested in editing with LightRoom but don’t know how to use it, or have been using it for even years but not super efficiently, I have GREAT news for you! I am hosting a LightRoom workshop in just a few weeks, and I have 3 seats left!

What you will learn:

How to get started form the first time you open LR

File organization and import/export

Walk through of all the sliders and what they do

What to do to edit images that look MANY different ways out of camera

Solving problem areas

Developing your editing style

This workshop will include a complete walk through of the program that would be applicable to beginners and more advanced LR users alike, to help increase efficiency and help you find the style that makes your work yours!  It will include access to my go-to editing tricks, as well as reference videos from some of the images we edit in class to watch later and continue to learn from.

Are you a mom/hobbyist?

Start HERE!

You're in the right place!  As a past high school teacher, educating others is my life's work and a HUGE part of my business!  I have been teaching moms and hobbyists how to use their camera from first purchasing it all the way to coaching them into businesses of their own, and I'd love to help you as well, wherever you are (and whatever camera you have!).

I'm so glad you are here!  Teaching Photographers and other small business owners how to run more joyful, successful, and profitable businesses is one of my favorite parts of my business!  I specialize in working with photographers to make their goals a reality (or figure out what their goals should be in the first place!).
