CENTRAL ILLINOIS TRADITIONAL PURPLE SUMMER WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY Zach + Lauren | Married

It was in the 70s at the end of June.  After a month of hot weddings, it was absolutely breathtaking out all day.  The wedding was the 3rd generation of weddings in this church for their family, and the bride wore all heirloom jewelry from the women who came before her.  Among her details was a bottle of perfume, that her aunt could tell me by name before seeing it, that included the scent her mother had worn every single day of Lauren’s life…it was the only thing she could imagine wearing on her own day. There are so many things to share about this day.

But one stood out more than all the rest for me.  Lauren and Zach’s family and friends clearly adore them. They would do anything for them, and their bridal party had such fun celebrating them all day long. Lauren’s bridesmaids were super attentive and sweet, and of course, Zach was completely blown away by his bride, and it was so evident.  But the thing that took my breath away over and over again? Lauren’s brothers.  Let me explain.  With the exception of just a couple of rare times (and remember, the bridesmaids and Lauren’s new husband were more than willing!), every time I saw Lauren walking during our ample portrait time from one spot to another…one or the other of her brothers was carrying her train.  Standing by her side, supporting her in a million ways, and serving as they could.  I have had a lot of wedding parties with siblings involved, and seen a lot of sweet things. But I cannot remember the brothers ever being the ones that wanted to and purposely made she they could take that job.  As the mother of a boy-girl duo, it totally grabbed my heart, and made me dream of many years from now when my kids are in the same situation.  I am sure they have plenty of typical sister-brothers moments. But in those moments that I saw, I saw 3 kids who have been loved immensely, and love each other the same way.  I just knew I had to share about it because it was so atypical and so beautiful.

There were many other stories that fit this mold, but we were just so honored to photograph Lauren and Zach and their beautiful day!
Lauren and her beautiful mama 🙂 This Cathedral…I haven’t shot in Blessed Sacrament before but it was completely stunning! Zach’s sweet parents were so proud! Married! Loved this bridal party!! Petals and Co blew me away, as usual, with these bouquets!! I will share more about this soon, but an old friend Natalie joined us for this wedding to assist and shoot a bit- this shot on the left is hers and I love it! I don’t typically share a lot of family formals…but this on the left? Lauren and her brothers.  And after what we witnessed Saturday…it had to be shared!
Love this of Michael’s! Favorite! Such beauties! Their reception was at such a unique and fun venue– I absolutely loved it!

Lauren and Zach, we are SO happy for you and your families!!! Congratulations!!
