If you had told me even a year ago that this opportunity would have come my way this spring, I wouldn’t have believed you!! A fellow photographer who I met through The International Academy of Wedding Photographers launched a whole new amazing side to her business a few months ago. Her name is Cinnamon Wolfe– if you are a creative small business owner, you have to check out her new site HERE. She has been blogging for business owners for years, and now has a whole new round of amazing tools…including Podcasts. Right before her launch, she asked me if I would be a guest on her new podcast, Focus(ed), which I have absolutely loved listening to since it’s first episode. I completely urge you to check it out, fellow photogs and boss babes!
Anyways, she asked if I would talk about balancing a business with young kids, and I was thrilled because it is one of the main topics I have always dreamed of speaking about. Her 30th episode aired last Thursday, featuring me (with a couple of word mix ups, too many “absolutely”s, and all!) and it was such an absolute joy for me! I don’t consider myself to be perfect at the balance, and there are some days I don’t get it right at all. But after 4 years of living that balance day in and day out….first 1 baby and then 2 babies and now 2 toddlers, sometimes a part time teaching job, sometimes musical director on the side…after all of that, I have learned a thing or two about it all, and I am so happy to share it. I just hope it can help some other business owning mamas (or women who want kids and are terrified of how to make it all work!).
