ASK ANYTHING: HOW DO I MAKE MY BLOG POSTS LOOK BETTER? Pairing Images Together With Style and Impact

It has been a while since I have shared new educational content here and as I am looking ahead into the next season where I really get to buckle down and teach and am shooting less, I am so excited to get back into weekly posts for photographers, small business owners, and brides!  I am also planning to expand into teaching via video (mainly facebook live) within the next couple weeks so if you are a photographer, join me HERE to make sure you get all that future content!

I am so excited about today’s video blog because it is a topic that can absolutely CHANGE the way you share your images in a way that makes such a greater impact and also gives your images a super high end appeal! I have heard others teach on this topic a few times, but I take a bit of a different approach because I do this whole job while prepping images for my blog vs shooting, and I am so excited for you to see this!  I talk a lot about Blogstomp in this video because I love it and absolutely swear by it, as a girl who did not enter photography though the Photoshop world! But photoshop or many other software platforms can give you this same capability while blogging.  However– I truly believe Blogstomp is the easiest and prettiest!  This video is going to walk you through my entire thought process of pairing images together to prep them for the blog post, and it made such a huge difference in my work and sharing– I hope it does for you too!

  1. Jill! LOVE this post. I hadn’t played with the zoom feature. Soooooo helpful. I’m going to try just doing 2 verticals and then horizontals alone and see how it works for me!

  2. This is so good! Learning how to pair blogging images is so much harder than it seems, and this is a great tutorial on that!

    • Jill says:

It took me so long to learn that I SHOULDN’T be pairing images that looked exactly alike together (“but they have the same lighting” was all I could think haha)!

  3. Jesi says:

Thank you so much for this! I love Blog Stomp but have yet to really get into its features! I had NO idea you could crop from Horizontal to Vertical! Mind Blown!!

    • Jill says:

I’m so glad this was helpful! I know once I really dug into all of it’s features, I was amazed! The cropping is definitely a game-changer!

You're in the right place!  As a past high school teacher, educating others is my life's work and a HUGE part of my business!  I have been teaching moms and hobbyists how to use their camera from first purchasing it all the way to coaching them into businesses of their own, and I'd love to help you as well, wherever you are (and whatever camera you have!).

I'm so glad you are here!  Teaching Photographers and other small business owners how to run more joyful, successful, and profitable businesses is one of my favorite parts of my business!  I specialize in working with photographers to make their goals a reality (or figure out what their goals should be in the first place!).
