All wedding days are unforgettable. For the couple, for their loved ones…there are moments that I know I will remember from every wedding I ever attended, either as a guest or photographer. Ericka and DJ’s wedding was certainly no exception, and was such a truly special day. They are a kind and warm couple, and their loved ones most definitely followed suit. They planned a beautiful early fall wedding with some sweet personal touches (like the cake accessories that looked just like them, and the ice cream sundae bar, among other things you will read about in this post!). There was an air of excitement throughout the whole morning as the girls were getting ready, and I saw Ericka’s true character shine right through as she was helping others over and over on the morning when many brides would let it be all about them! I had to actually remind that she could take a break from helping and get ready herself! She is just one of the kindest people, and DJ is such a great match for her. Their day was extraordinary, and I can’t think of a more deserving couple!

This is a new favorite ceremony image. Ericka’s dad Erick was just as sweet and emotional as could be all day long, and it just stole my heart a million times over. He was so very proud of and happy for his little girl!
After winning a Twitter bet, David Harbour (a pretty massively famous TV star!) flew to Illinois to officiate Ericka and DJ’s wedding!! Read all about it at the links below– I am excited to share more about this experience in the future! It was a beautiful, funny, and lovely ceremony in all ways!
