Claire and Peter’s wedding day was a reminder of every single thing that is meaningful and good about choosing to unite your life with another. 2 beautiful families that are so proud of their highly accomplished kids. Siblings who are weaved into each others lives. Family traditions that are so meaningful even to those who are witnessing them for the first time. Claire and Peter are intentional to their core– everything they do has a purpose and a meaning– and their wedding day was the same. I can honestly say that in all my years of wedding photography, photographing over 100 weddings at this point in my career, I have never been brought to tears so many times but the amount of meaningful, relational moments that were weaved into this day. Into every part of Claire and Peter, and their loved ones. It was such a beautiful day to be a part of, and my heart will be impacted by what I saw. I hope for my kids the type of love that Claire and Peter share. As you may remember from their engagement session, Peter is a pilot, so travel and adventure is weaved into their story together. A first look with each of her favorite men. This church was a most beautiful and fitting backdrop to Peter and Claire’s love story. I love every photo more than the previous! These two are just beautiful together, and Claire’s dress is a total favorite of mine! Their ceremony was meaningful and beautiful, like the rest of the day. I have been blown away by every wedding sermon I have heard at this church, and this one was no different. Claire and Peter were my first couple of the last 1.5 years to make use of rotating cocktail hours to get as much time as possible with as many loved ones as possible while being as safe as possible. It was a beautiful thing, and they will have so many photos with so many loved ones because they made the time for it. And then we snuck outside for sunset photos before their official reception! Claire and Peter washed each other’s feet as a representation of their sacrificial love for each other at their reception. It was such a tender moment. In one of their multiple wedding family traditions, Claire’s family made a parody to the Flinstones song to sing about Claire and Peter and their life together. If you know me (and my past-music-teacher-self), you can guess why I LOVED this so much!. I can’t type about this little moment without tearing up so I’ll just let the picture speak for itself. Brides. If you want to give a gift to your mother, and this suits your personality…dance with her too on your wedding day. This was a surprise for Claire’s mom, and was just so so special. And tell my daughter when it’s her time– I would love this too! 🤣 I have more respect and love for these two than I can squeeze into this post. Claire and Peter, I was so deeply moved by your wedding day, and am so honored to have gotten to witness it!
