Because of the time necessities of a busy wedding season, I know I am not going to be able to take many family sessions this year, and because of that, I am so completely cherishing the opportunities that I am getting (please contact me if you want one because there is very little room and I hate to turn anyone away)!  This family session was at the end of a weekend of mini-sessions that I am slowly sharing on the blog, and it was SO nice to spend some time photographing those relationships!  Extended family sessions are a little different- I don’t usually get a ton of time with the individual groups, and the focus usually isn’t too strongly on the small moments within the groups as it is about getting everyone in images together!  So when I get to steal a couple of moments for some interaction, I just love it- and wish I had hours more with each family to get so much more of that!!

This family is quite special to me- I was meeting many of them for the first time, but have photographed one of the groups multiple times and just adore them and their kids.  They all reminded me very much of my husbands much-loved-by-me family- a few farmers, some beautiful land, and a TON of love.  I had a blast with them, continued to learn little bits about farm life (more on that coming soon), and captured some images that I love- and I sincerely hope they do too! I know it is a good session when I leave feeling like I want that for MY extended family- we need to get on it soon! 🙂  I could gush about each of these images and people but that seems excessive…so I will just let you enjoy the S family!!
