There is something very familiar and comfortable about photographing in similar places, areas that you know exactly where your favorite light is and where you will find the prettiest trees. But as an artist, I really love photographing new places, and was thrilled when Christina and Bill asked me about doing their engagement session in locations that were local and meaningful to them and their life together!
Christina and Bill have a beautiful story that to me involves a whole lot of good luck, or fate, if you will. While both from the midwest, a few hours apart, they met each other in Texas, while there for different life reasons. Together, they are so easy going and kind, and just fun to be around. They like spending time with their friends and family, which brought them back to Central Illinois. Their wedding plans are centering around that family: initially planned for Bill’s family farm, they changed plans early on deciding to get married instead near to Christina’s Grandmothers, who are unable to travel. I told them then and will say it now, I really respect a bride and groom who care to have all their loved ones present that much! They are just good people, and they are absolutely wonderful together. We met at a brewery that they frequent together, and I loved photographing them in that setting! Something so different for me, and so fun.
We were in Illini country, if you can’t tell 😉
Traveled to a park for a little outdoor time and sunset.
Christina, you are so beautiful!!
And this sunset…if you follow me at all, you know I’m obsessed with it!! Absolutely gorgeous…but not as lovely as them!
Christina and Bill, I cannot wait for your wedding next August! I hope you love these many favorites of mine in the slideshow, and I can’t wait to send you your full gallery son! Your love is beautiful, and I know your day will be too!
