She cleared her throat and swallowed hard…I’m pretty sure she was nervous even though a natural at the mic (like her daddy, which was obvious from his toast!).  I think it’s because no matter how much you do or don’t love public speaking…summarizing your relationship with your Irish twin (and look alike!) sister and her now husband, who you have known so much of your life, is just a tricky thing.  Cassandra’s sister gave a beautiful speech about how much time she had spent with the Cassandra and Matt, how well suited they are for each other, and how he was the brother she never had and had been for a long time.  But she ended with the line that hasn’t left me since:

“Cheers to my best friend and her new husband…And to all of us, that we may find our Cassandra and Matthew love story.”.

It was the absolute best way to summarize the day, and the years that these two have been together.  High school sweet hearts who sacrificed much over their dating years to be together, move around the country together, and bear witness to each other’s lives.  It wasn’t enough to talk and visit when they could.  As Cassandra picked a midwest college after Matt’s family moved to Florida…he came back to the midwest to go there too.  As Matt moved to his family’s home on the other end of the country after college, Cassandra started her life here…and then she went too.  They went together to yet another state that neither of their families are in recently for new jobs and education opportunities.  Cassandra and Matt stay together…and they are such a beautiful example of the joy and sacrifice of loving someone else with your whole life.

And I’m pretty sure they both got it from their parents, who were 4 of the kindest, most joyful people.  They both have lovely sisters who clearly are so overjoyed for them and such a huge part of their lives.  I spent a lot of time in communication with Cassandra’s mama throughout this process, since Cass and Matt were planning a wedding from across the country, and she just wrapped me up in her joyful energy every time we talked.  It is just so clear where Cassandra and Matthew come from– no matter how far from home they may adventure.  Their day was elegant, classy, joyful, and beautiful…and so deeply wrapped in the Cassandra and Matthew type of love.     I have to stop and say how FUN this wedding party was– the had me laughing all day long!!! #Squadgoals!!! And in perhaps my favorite moment of this blog post (and top few of the day!)…this below is what the beautiful bridesmaids and bride were doing… While the groomsmen (with my husband at the camera) were doing this. Matt, there is so much more antics between you and your guys, and I can’t wait for you to see it all in your gallery!!

They could be serious too though when needed!  Had to share the bride and her beautiful sister! The groom was joined by a 5th groomsmen… I just cannot get over how lovely these two…they totally define class!!! Cassandra!!! You are absolute bridal perfection!!! Wish we could have grabbed Matthew for this picture too- Cass and Matt, it was such an honor to witness your love and be a part of your day!!!  We adore you guys and are so thrilled for you!  Hope you loved these favorites!!
